Ionic Foot Bath

This more of a spa than a medical procedure.  Yet, my clients who take ionic foot baths as part of the general detox programs that are offered at Healthy Healing, keep reporting some benefits.  One typical reaction is that immediately after the bath they feel tired, whereas later they say they feel much invigorated.  Others reported better and deeper sleep and those plagued by frequent headaches, fewer and less severe attacks.  That is why I continue to offer these foot baths, even though I would not propose to treat any serious condition with their help.  The fact is that in the modern world we are exposed to countless toxic substances.  Therefore, everything is fair that helps body and mind to deal with them and stay sane and healthy in an overall pretty insane and unhealthy environment.

Syndie Andrus has used the foot bath extensively with many clients and written a few articles on their workings and benefits.  She describes the process as follows, "The detox foot bath works using simple salty warm water and charged ions. The bath has a coil that is placed in the warm water that creates a mild electrical current which in turn ionizes the water. This electrical field that is created stimulates the reflexology points in your feet to release toxins in the form of concentrated sweat. The reflexology points and glands in your feet are ideal for detoxing-- it is the most effective part of your body to detox. The combination of the salt, warm water, and ions gently remove the toxins while you sit and relax."

There are a few contra-indications when ionic foot baths should not be used.  While they are safe for most people, there are some who should avoid them.

They are not to be used for people with pacemakers, type 1 diabetes, epilepsy or implanted organs should not use it. Anyone undergoing radiation or chemotherapy should not use an ionic foot bath. They're also not considered safe for women who are pregnant or might be pregnant. Do not use a foot bath if you have an open wound on your foot.
